MI Fifth Graders Celebrate 1,000th Day of SchoolMason Intermediate fifth graders on Team Infinity celebrated 1,000 days of school on Friday, January 25 with activities based on the one thousandth day in writing, math, reading, STEM, exercise and kindness challenges.

"We just discovered this recently and are excited about starting a new tradition with our students!" explained MI fifth grade Math and Science teacher Katie Renners. "As fifth graders, they have been in school for 180 days per Kindergarten through fourth grade school year, plus 100 days of fifth grade, which equals 1,000 days!"

Activities included 'Decorating 1,000 glasses,' completing 1,000 artwork, words packet and math problems, writing kindness notes, participating in 1,000 seconds of exercise challenges, viewing a gallery walk of STEM displays, and doing a final count of 1,000 donations for Mason Food Pantry.

"This was the first year we did this and were very excited about it for our kids!' added Renners.
