Veteran Inspires and Talks to Team Venture about CourageMason resident and founder of Blue Skies for the Good Guys and Gals Warrior Foundation (501c3) David Hart, along with Blue Skies Alumni Staff Sergeant Shilo Harris, US Army, Combat Injured Warrior and inspirational speaker, visited Mason Intermediate Team Venture on Friday, May 17.

Hart and Harris first met around 2012 in Texas when David took Shilo tandem skydiving. They have since become close friends. David is also a founding member of Team Fastrax Professional Skydiving Team and has completed over 6,000 parachute jumps, some of which were during his service as a US Army Ranger and Pathfinder. Shilo is a motivational speaker who shares his story with groups around the country, raising awareness for PTSD and serving as an inspiration to fellow soldiers.

"We were so excited to have Shilo visit and discuss his experiences and talk about courage," shared Western Row third grade teacher Kelly Gholz. Gholz has a son on Team Venture who has been raising money for the organization, and she was the one who set up the presentation as she knows Hart personally. "There were also four students who created bracelets to sell and donate the profits to Dave Hart for his Wounded Warrior/Blue Skies organization."

Blue Skies hosts over 50 combat injured warriors and fallen hero families in Southwest Ohio every summer for a weekend of bonding, healing and life enriching fun activities.
